This classic is one of the most famous works by designer Richard Sapper for Alessi. Characteristic of this stainless steel kettle is the melodic brass whistle. Inspired by the sounds of cargo ships on the Rhine, two tuning pipes in "e" and "b" are integrated into the brass whistle. These small pipes are typically used for tuning musical instruments and are exclusively crafted for Alessi by a craftsman in the Black Forest. To pour, the whistle does not need to be removed as with traditional kettles: a pull on the lever below the heat-insulating handle is enough to lift the whistle.
