The EKI-1511 series focuses on the entry-level market for device servers and offers a cost-effective solution for connecting serial RS-232 or RS-422/485 devices such as PLCs, meters, sensors, and barcode readers to an IP-based Ethernet LAN. This allows nearly any device with a serial connection to be connected to and shared over an Ethernet network. At the same time, various functions such as COM port redirection (Virtual COM port), TCP server, TCP client, and UDP mode are available. In COM port redirection mode, standard calls for serial operations are transparently redirected to the servers, ensuring compatibility with older serial devices and enabling backward compatibility with existing software. With the TCP server, TCP client, and UDP modes, the EKI-1511 series ensures compatibility in network software that uses a standard network API.
