The intelligent, microcontroller-controlled charger features DeltaU cut-off. The device detects battery defects and short circuits and offers a discharge function that is only needed for NiCd batteries to resolve the memory effect. The microcontroller-controlled charging technology continuously monitors the charging process, regardless of the charge state, capacity, and size of the battery, to prevent overcharging.

The pulse maintenance charge after the charging process prevents the battery from discharging, ensuring that fully charged batteries are always ready for use. The battery defect detection ensures the sorting out of potentially defective or deeply discharged batteries. Through the discharge function or discharge button, NiCd batteries can be discharged to bypass the memory effect or to regenerate older batteries with a memory effect.
