The foreign field-protected opening detector is ideal for reliable exterior security. It is used to secure doors and windows and detects unauthorized openings, which are reported to the alarm control center. The opening detector consists of a magnetic contact (reed) and a magnet, which must be installed at a distance of at least 8 mm from each other, either parallel, end-to-end, or orthogonally.

In its idle state, the circuit of this NC opening detector is closed. If the distance between the reed and the magnet increases, the circuit is interrupted, triggering an alarm. The detector is protected against sabotage and foreign fields. Foreign field protection means that only the magnet associated with this opening detector has the correct field strength to keep the circuit closed. Any change in field strength, for example, from a foreign magnet, interrupts the circuit and triggers an alarm.

The optimal installation location is the center of the door or window frame. Installation at the bottom of the window frame is also possible if a specific window is to be tilted while the magnetic contact is secured. The detector is suitable for both surface-mounted and flush-mounted installation. It is waterproof and dustproof (IP 68). The opening detector is VdS certified and available in white and brown.
