The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is designed to be easy to apply and comfortable to wear. The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is waterproof up to a depth of 1 meter for a duration of up to 30 minutes.
Applying the sensor
The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is applied to the back of the upper arm using the sensor applicator. When applying the sensor to the body, a thin, flexible, sterile filament is inserted just under the skin. The sensor is secured with a thin, transparent adhesive film and can be worn for up to 14 days.
Scanning the sensor
To measure your glucose level, you need the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or the FreeStyle LibreLink app. Hold the reader or your smartphone close to your sensor. The painless 1-second scan allows for a quick and discreet way to measure glucose - even through your clothing.
Retrieving the measurements
With each scan using the reader or smartphone over the sensor, the current glucose level, the glucose trend for the last 8 hours, and a trend arrow are displayed. This indicates whether the glucose level is rising, falling, or changing slowly.
