Product details
Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) according to IEC/EN 62606 and IEC/EN 60898-1 provides protection against series and parallel arc faults, overcurrent protection (overload or short circuit), surge protection (only for internal AFDD), and protection against electrically ignited fires in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-420. Mandatory application areas according to DIN VDE 01000 are in single-phase AC systems with In ≤ 16 A in sleeping or living areas of homes and day care facilities for children, disabled or elderly people, as well as in barrier-free apartments, in rooms or locations with fire risk (with special fire hazards, fire-endangered workplaces), predominantly made of combustible building materials. The risk of irreplaceable goods, such as cultural assets of particularly high value, must also be considered. The use of AFDDs is recommended in rooms with sleeping facilities, in rooms or locations with fire-spreading structures, and in final circuits with high connection power. Generally, the AFDD is also recommended to enhance fire protection against electrically ignited fires. An LED indicator helps identify the cause of the tripping. The supply can be from above or below, and cross-wiring to RCDs in the rear terminal area is possible. Accessories for the pro M compact® system can be attached. The rated breaking capacity according to IEC/EN 60898-1 is Icn=6kA. AFDD+MCB S-ARC1 is single-pole protected (LS) and double-pole switching.
