Product details
Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCBO) according to IEC/EN 62606 (VDE 0665-10) and IEC/EN 61009-1 (VDE 0664-20), IEC/EN 61009-2-1 (VDE 0664-21) provides protection against series and parallel arc faults, overcurrent protection (overload or short circuit), protection against sinusoidal alternating currents and pulsating currents with smooth residual direct current of up to 6 mA to earth. It also offers fault protection (protection against indirect contact) and additional protection (with I?n = 30 mA). Protection against overvoltage (only for internal AFDD) and protection against electrically ignited fires according to DIN VDE 0100-420.
Mandatory application areas according to DIN VDE 0100-420 are in single-phase alternating current systems with In = 16 A in sleeping or living areas of homes and day care facilities for children, disabled or elderly people, or barrier-free apartments, as well as in rooms or locations with fire risk (with special fire hazards, fire-endangered workplaces), predominantly/mainly made of combustible building materials. Threat to irreplaceable goods - cultural assets of particularly high value and in single-phase final circuits that supply electrical equipment in the mentioned areas or traverse these areas. The use of AFDDs is recommended in rooms with sleeping facilities, rooms or locations with fire-spreading structures, and final circuits with high connection power.
In general, the AFDD is also recommended to enhance fire protection against electrically ignited fires. LED indicator to identify the cause of tripping. Top or bottom feeding is flexible, cross-wiring, e.g., to residual current circuit breakers in the rear terminal area is possible. Accessories of the system can be mounted on pro M compact®. Rated switching capacity according to IEC/EN 61009 Icn=6kA. AFDD+RCBO DS-ARC1 is 1-pole protected (LS), 2-pole switching.
