The Type 82 Kübelwagen is one of the most famous and commonly used vehicles of World War II. It was designed by engineer Ferdinand Porsche and produced by Volkswagen. The goal of the project was to create a simple vehicle that was easy to build, maintain, and repair. The panels were flat, and the design was free of bulges. The chassis was also simply constructed, characterized by a central tube and a mount for the rear engine and transmission. The Kübelwagen was equipped with a gasoline engine with a displacement of 998 cm³ and could reach a top speed of 80 km/h. Although the vehicle did not have four-wheel drive, it proved to be exceptionally reliable in all terrains due to its excellent design, accompanying the campaigns of the German Wehrmacht under all environmental conditions and at all fronts. The Kübelwagen could be armed with a mount for the MG34 or MG42 machine guns.
