Description: 1:35 Semovente M42 da 75/34 In the years leading up to World War II, the Royal Army expressed the need for mechanized artillery units capable of supporting infantry and armored divisions. Based on the hull of the medium tank "M," the self-propelled 75/18 was developed, which proved to be the most feared Italian armored vehicle by the Allies during the war. In fact, it became an effective anti-tank weapon thanks to the 75 mm howitzer installed in the casemate, capable of destroying even the strongest and heavily armored British and American tanks. However, during the war, the Royal Italian Army called for the development of a version with increased firepower. Consequently, the 75/34 gun was installed on the hull of the self-propelled tank M42 for anti-tank purposes. The first vehicles were made available to the Italian troops in the spring of 1943. Due to its good performance in action, it was also used by German units after the armistice in September 1943.
