The model is a replica of the RW 61 Sturmmörser Tiger. During World War II, the German army often had to combat fortified positions or urban defense centers. For tactical reasons—since the troops were in close proximity to enemy lines—artillery and air support could not be used. This led to the development of the "Sturm" version of the heavy tank "Tiger" (Italeri No. 6471). The efficient and unique 38 cm mortar was mounted on the high-performance chassis, which had a short range but enormous firepower. Only a few units of the Sturmtiger were built and were primarily deployed on the Western Front in 1944.
