The model is a replica of the Renault R5 Rally. For the 1977 rally season, the French company Renault developed a racing version of the popular small R5. Despite being designed for very different terrains, the French engineers managed to achieve remarkable performance from the engine after proper preparation: 150 hp and an impressive power-to-weight ratio, which, thanks to its weight of only 800 kg, made the R5 a very agile and fast car. The R5 achieved great results in the 1978 Sanremo and Monte Carlo rallies, as well as encouraging outcomes in the Acropolis Rally and in Africa.
