To compete in the FIA Group 5 category, Porsche developed a version derived from the famous Porsche 911 Turbo street car, equipped with special engine and chassis solutions. Various versions were created for motorsport. The Porsche 935J "Baby" was particularly famous, built to participate in the German Racing Car Championship in the two-liter category. The Porsche "Baby" featured a lighter chassis, achieving a total weight of only 735 kg to comply with regulations. It was powered by an air-cooled 1,425 cc engine with an output of 261 kW. In 1977, the car achieved a remarkable victory on the Hockenheim racetrack, demonstrating that it was developed on a solid technical foundation.
