    Robotics for Matura Thesis

Hello robotics community We (me & 2 colleagues) will have to hand in a Matura thesis (cantonal school) this autumn. We have until the end of next month to narrow down the topic. One possible topic area for our MA is robotics. However, since we have had little contact with the topic of self-build robots and microcontrollers, I wanted to ask you for your advice. About our previous knowledge: The 3 of us focused on mathematics and physics at school. We also have some knowledge of programming (not Java or C++, but Python) and have programmed small games such as 4 Wins (with computer opponents). Our problem in finding a topic is that we don't know exactly what is within the scope of our possibilities. I just had a spontaneous idea, which I would like to present to you briefly: A self-driving robot should be able to track a tracker as soon as it has been activated. The possible place of use could be, for example, a flat of an elderly person. The person would have to carry the tracker with them. In the event that the person falls over and can no longer get up or call for help, he or she can activate the tracker. The robot then "wakes up from its sleep mode" to the tracker and has, for example, a house telephone with it. The person is now able to call a neighbour. Of course, one could develop the robot much further (ability to open doors / equip the robot with a mobile phone antenna and then programme a self-triggering emergency call function (in case the robot cannot cross an obstacle, or the person has become unconscious in the meantime and thus does not take the phone from the robot, etc.). My question to you is: Do you know any good websites where you can read up on the subject? Do you think it is possible for beginners to build/programme a self-driving robot in half a year? I look forward to your opinions and feedback!
