    Change speed filter?

Instead of max. speed, min. would probably be better.

    Matching switch

Hello Community I need some tips as I'm a bit lost at the moment. Here is my current situation: - I have a 10Gb internet connection. - There is a NAS in the basement that is connected via fibre optics. - Various NAS and PCs are also located in the basement. - In my flat there are the usual devices such as tablets, laptops and TV. Goal: I want to get the full 10Gb to the NAS and the computers in the basement. Questions: 1. does it make sense to place the Zyxel XGS1250-12 in the flat near the ISP router? (Consideration: The ISP modem has a 10Gb RJ45 connection) https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/zyxel-xgs1250-12-12-ports-netzwerk-switch-48767987 2. from the Zyxel switch I could go to the basement via a 10Gb fibre optic module. However, I want at least a 16 port switch there. I'm not sure which one would make sense. Maybe Mikrotik? https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/mikrotik-crs310-8g2sin-10-ports-netzwerk-switch-37808389 Do you have any other alternatives? My current setup is already over 15 years old, so an upgrade would certainly make sense. :) Many thanks for your help!

    Switch for home network

Hello together I have installed approx. 16 Lan connections in my house and now need a suitable switch. The following devices will be used: TV, Apple Smart TV, PC, mesh systems, smart home bridges, printers, maybe cameras in the future. Can you recommend a device with approx. 24 ports for a 19 rack? I assume an unmanaged switch would be best for my knowledge and requirements. Many thanks and best regards

    Mbit versus Gbit

Dear Digitec, Please stop using thousands of Mbit when you could just use Gbit - it doesn't make a search any simpler

I am looking for active PoE injectors. How do I have to search to find them?

For me it would be logical: - Select category "PoE injectors" - Set filter for "Active PoE" - sort by price Unfortunately, this does not work in the shop. How do I still get there?

Better filters to search for switches?

Hi there, I feel a bit lost with the filters available to search for switches which ports are 2.5 Gbps but also have SFP+ ports. Is there a way this can be improved?

Switch for LAN connection in the rooms

Hello Community I would like to install a LAN connection in every room in our home. Now I am looking for a suitable switch. I have the following product in mind: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/ubiquiti-enterprise-24-poe-26-ports-netzwerk-switch-15898607 The reason is: - Enough ports - 12x 2.5-G RJ45 ports (prepared for the future) - 2x 10-G SFP+ - PoE+ (for access point and cameras) - Access points and cameras also from Ubiquiti The question is, can I install this in the attic? From up there, old coaxial cables go into every room, which I could replace with the network cable. However, it gets very hot up there in the summer and correspondingly cold in the winter. Can the switch withstand this? Network cables I looked at these two: Favourite: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/goobay-ghmt-zertifiziertes-cat-81-verlegekabel-sftp-pimf-gelb-sftp-sstp-cat81-100-m-netzwerkkabel-24073923 Alternative: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/roline-netzwerkkabel-sftp-pimf-cat81-100-m-netzwerkkabel-13951656 What is the difference, other than double the price? I have picked out the following Keystone socket: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/delock-keystone-modul-rj45-buchse-zu-lsa-cat81-werkzeugfrei-netzwerk-zubehoer-netzwerk-zubehoer-23158115 Does this also have to be PoE-capable? Or is it enough if the switch is? What is better/recommended. Mount the RJ45 plug directly on the installation cable and connect it directly to the switch, e.g. with this plug. https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/delock-keystone-modul-rj45-buchse-zu-lsa-cat81-werkzeugfrei-netzwerk-zubehoer-netzwerk-zubehoer-23158115 or also a socket and a patch panel? https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/delock-gehaeuse-keystone-patchpanel-12-port-schwarz-patch-panel-netzwerk-zubehoer-17231539?ip=Patchpanel+gehä Thank you in advance for your articles and help.

Can I use a switch instead of a router?

Hello Together I have installed 2 fibre optic connections at home. My current router (which will remain) from my provider is connected to one of them. However, it only has 1 Gbit/s ports. Since I would like to have more than 1 Gbit/s, I was wondering if it is possible to connect a switch with 10 Gbit/s ports to the 2nd fibre connection. If so, what do I need to look out for when buying a switch?

can you recommend a quiet switch?

I am looking for a quiet switch, or more precisely, one with a quiet power supply. I bought this switch: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/netgear-gs308-300pes-8-ports-switch-11025859?supplier=406802 unfortunately the power supply whistles. this high-frequency sound is like tinnitus and makes the switch unusable for me. It would be great if you could recommend a switch that you have used yourself and know does not whistle.

    Switch with POE scheduling

Hello together I am looking for a small Gigabit POE switch (max. 8 ports) where individual ports can be deactivated according to a schedule for energy-related reasons. Example: Connected access point should be deactivated at night. Can anyone recommend a specific product? Thank you and greetings Fabio

Distinguishing feature between switch with uplink 10GBit/s or Ethernet port 10GBit/s?

It is quite confusing when looking for a switch that supports 10Gbit/s speed when the cheapest models "only" offer 10Gbit/s in the uplink, but not on the individual Ethernet ports. Especially with the latest Salt Fiber offering, you want to be able to distribute the speed further internally. The backplane speed would also be helpful if it were included in the specifications.

    Different "transmitting power" for switches

Hello I have installed a 20 m LogiLink Cat 6a flat cable from the router to the office. Since the router doesn't have enough ports, I bought a UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE, which is right next to the router. Now I have noticed that there is no signal in the office when I plug the cable into the switch. But when I plug the cable into the router (Wingo Internetbox) everything works. In the office there is a UniFi Switch 8 with UniFi 6 Lite AP. Unfortunately, I have already noticed that PoE does not work, but this is due to the cable. My question is: Do the switches have different "transmission powers" for the signal? Would it possibly work with a different switch? I actually wanted to replace the Wingobox.

Setting up a new home network / Recommendation

Hello Board We are soon to move into our new home and the question of network equipment arises. Since I haven't been very active in keeping up with the state of the art for a while, I'd like to ask around here and would be grateful for any input. Initial situation: - 3x AP connection (plan to use Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC NanoHD via POE). - FTTH (quickline - modem still unknown, 19" rack available) - planned 2xTV via TV Box - 2x PC via LAN - 3x bits and pieces (PV system, NAS, printer) - a few reserves would certainly not go amiss So the requirements are minimal. Which switch would you recommend for this? It should be as easy to manage as possible. Greetings and thanks!

    Buy recommendation Switch

Here's the scenario: I need a switch that has at least 4 ports and utilises my NAS in the internal network. It should also have passive cooling (so that you don't hear anything from it). Link agregation is mandatory for the switch. The following will be connected to the switch: Internet from the router (1Gb/s) LAN cable to laptop (via Thunderbold adapter up to 40GB/s) Synology Diskstation DS916+ with expansion and Link Agregation (2x1Gb/s) Playstation (max 1Gb/s) TV (max 1Gb/s) Reciver (max 1Gb/s) Set Top Box (max 1Gb/s) Reserve port (min. 1Gb/s) (some of the devices are plugged directly into the router. Unfortunately, this does not support link agregation) The goal is to download data from my laptop to the DiskStation at full speed. The switch should be as cheap as possible. Thanks for your help.

    Switch for TV?

Which switch do I have to choose to connect the Samsung Smart TV and the Sunrise TV box (= 2 cables) to the LAN (= 1 connection in the wall)? In any case, this splitter does not work: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/logilink-splitter-netzwerkmodul-netzwerk-zubehoer-12702245?supplier=406802 The product descriptions for it are quite meagre.

Switch for 10Gbit devices and internet lines

Dear Community I have several end devices which are 10 Gbit compatible (NAS, Mac mini, router all RJ45). Now I want to connect these devices and am looking for the right switch. In the past I have often used Ubiquiti devices and was very happy with them. Would you still recommend the slightly older US-XG switches. Or should I use something else like a MikroTik device? Has anyone had any experience with this? The information on the net is a bit sparse and the product selection at Digitec is huge.
