Does aperture change with sensor size?

Hello, is it true that not only the focal length but also the aperture changes with a smaller sensor size? So that, for example, an MFT lens 12mm/f2.8 at full frame is 24mm and only aperture f 5.6? Thanks for your answers

Tamron AF 150-500 or Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500 for Z6

Good evening everyone. I'm thinking of buying a new zoom telephoto lens for my next surfing holiday. Now I'm spoilt for choice. For your information, I am employed with a Nikon Z6. I have shortlisted the Tamron AF 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD - (EU) (NIKON Z) and the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm, f/5.6E ED VR (NIKON F). Does anyone have any experience or tips to help me choose?

    Focal length search filters

Hello, you've recently changed the search filters for the focal range and it's no longer easy to find lenses of 600 or 800 mm for example, there are just more than 135 mm. Can you change this?

    Lens or converter

Hello everyone, I have a Nikon D5600 my maximum zoom at the moment is 7x magnification. With a 200 Nikon lens. Now I would like to have more, as you reach the limit very quickly with this lens. - My question now is liber a 600 lens or a converter with the 200? - What do I have to look for in my Nikon D5600 so that the lens or converter also works? Thank you for your help and support!

    Telephoto zoom lens for football

Hello I am looking for a telephoto zoom lens for photography at football matches (highest and second highest league in Switzerland). I own both a Nikon D7200 and a Sony A7III. For the Nikon, I would consider the 70-200 2.8 and the 80-400 4.5-5.6. With the Sony, the 100-400 would come into question. Does anyone have experience with one or the other of the lenses listed? Which one would you advise me to choose?

New filter: manual or automatic aperture lens?

I wanted to know if it would be possible to have a new filter to sort lenses by manual or automatic aperture? Personally this would be very useful for me: I much prefer to be able to change the aperture as well as having to go into menus on my camera (and I imagine I'm not the only person for whom this is important).

    Lens for Canon EOS M50

What are some good lenses for the Canon Eos M50, possibly with an adapter? Is the Tamron lens 18 - 200 recommendable? I am looking for a zoom lens under 500 francs. The focal length should be about 18 - 40 to 150 - 250 mm.

Zoom lens for the Sony A7III

Hello I'm looking for a zoom lens for my A7III, and I'm considering both the Sony 24-105 and the Tamron 28-200. So far I have the Tamron 17-28, which one would you recommend? I take most of my photos in the wide-angle range. I would cover about 90-95% of the photos I have taken so far (Nikon D7200 with a 16-80) with the 24-105.

Hello all I am looking for a fixed focal length lens for my Alpha 6000. https://www.sony.ch/de... I found the following lens. Unfortunately I can't find it at digitec, can anyone suggest a comparable alternative? Or a product manager tell me if the lens from the link above is available for order? Filter image stabilisation

Hello Digitec, there are many lenses listed that do not have image stabilisation, although I have set this in the filter. It is mega easy to recognise this by the designation IS for ImageStabilization.

Hello together I own a Sony A6400. I have the following lenses: Samyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ OSS Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS In May/June 2026 we want to go on a round trip in the USA/Canada. Focus on the national parks. I would like a new telephoto lens for exactly that. Bears, deer, bison, elk, coyotes etc. and for some of them the distance should be significantly higher ;) I have no experience with these wild animals. Lenses to choose from: Tamron AF 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS The Tamron would still be on sale here until just under 7 days from now and the 70-350mm is always available cheaply and with cashback. I suspect that I will be taking a lot of photos in the morning, as the animals are more active at this time. Will this work out with the apertures? I have to set the ISO higher on my camera anyway. And it doesn't matter if it's an APS-C lens, as I'm not considering a full-frame! Thanks to everyone for the (constructive) discussion and also to everyone who would like to add their two cents.
Hello everyone Will be going on safari to Tanzania in June. I have an X-T20 and am wondering whether I need to upgrade it. I haven't looked at the camera market for a while. I've been very happy with the X-T20 so far. Unfortunately, I only have the 18-55mm and the 56mm lens. Questions therefore: - Is the X-T20 basically enough? Or can I get a bargain (X-T2, X-T3?) at the moment? - Which focal length is recommended? Is a zoom up to 300mm sufficient? If so, is the Tamron or rather the Fujinon sufficient? I'm looking forward to your opinions.
Hello all. I bought a Canon EOS800d about a year ago [my first camera]. Now I have noticed again and again that it makes sense to buy a wider angle lens for landscape photography. Now I have looked on the internet and have to say there are sooooo many lenses etc.. Now my question is it better to buy a fixed focal length or not and with the aperture is aperture 2.8 good for landscape photography? I found a Vaforiten and wanted to ask you what you think of the lens. It would be the Tokina ATX-I 11-16mm f2.8 CF Canonon EF.
Good day, dear community I'm looking for the "egg-laying willow", which probably doesn't exist. So I need two lenses. I currently have the 28-70mm kit lens, which I don't like. I would like to shoot landscapes during the day or at dusk with a tripod. So do I need a wide angle? If it's possible, I'd like to shoot what my eye sees, not just half of it, as is the case with the kit lens. Being able to zoom in a bit would also be nice. Scenario #2: If I want to take a photo of the hair on an ant's leg in good lighting conditions with a tripod and I'm about 20cm? away, I probably need a macro lens? My budget is around CHF 1000 per lens. Is there anything usable? What would you recommend? Suggestions that cost more are also welcome. LG Tom
Hello all I have decided to get to grips with the subject of filming. Since I'm just starting out, I don't want to spend too much money on a completely new setup. Therefore, here is the starting point: I currently have a Canon EOS 80D, which can record in Full HD, plus a gimbal from DJI. My question: The Canon is not a Sony Alpha but in my opinion it should be enough for the beginning. (other opinion, please let me know). However, I don't know which lens is suitable for filming with the 80D. Can anyone help me? (May also be several lenses) Info: I probably won't be shooting any nature documentaries. I would rather shoot bike- and carp*rn's. Meaning... different close-ups, a lot of different light and colour situations, filming while driving and fast movements etc. Thanks for the help
