Removes more plaque than manual toothbrush

My Dentist Dr. Cecconi recommended Philips Sonicare Sonic toothbrush to me when I told him that I uses Hard toothbrushes. He recommended it because Hard toothbrush can cause damage to the gums when brushing too hard. I also told him that Soft toothbrush doesn’t clean the plaque. But he said that the Philips Sonicare will clean the plaque and is kinder for the gums. He also said that it doesn’t have to be the super expensive version. So, I did some on-line research and most people on Reddit and the UK Which? Magazine recommended the basic 4100 model. Because it is the «motor» and «brush head» that are the most important aspects. The rest are just gimmicks. I bought this 5300 version because it is the same as 4100 version with 2 intensity levels but with a longer battery life and the offer price (54.90CHF) was cheaper than the 4100 version at the time.

I have used it for a week and it does clean the plaque with no gums bleeding. It takes some time getting used to the vibration, as it feels weird and not pleasant when the brush head knocks on the adjacent teeth. The auto-stop timer is a bit too short for me. But I guess it is a good reminder that you don’t want to “over brush” and causes damage.
My only criticism is that the brush head replacement are super expensive. If anyone can recommend an alternative toothbrush head for Philips Sonicare, please drop a comment.
