The speed does not match what is promised
I have not been able to exceed 100 Mbps with this product on my MacBook Pro (several tests with speedtest.net), while it is supposed to allow a speed up to 1000 Mbps.
Having other adapters, I was able to make a comparison (using the same Thunderbolt 3 port and Ethernet cable). With another multi-port USB-C adapter, I hit 700 Mbps and with a Thunderbolt 3 dock, I hit 900 Mbps. Even with Wi-Fi, I was able to exceed 100 Mbps, which makes this adapter really useless to me.
Maybe it was a defective model. I was able to get a refund, but I won't be getting the same product.Contra

pay attention to its limited bandwidth
A disappointing product. The download speed is limited to 100 Mbps with my MacBook pro. I get three to four times the download speed using my wifi.

i-Tec support was quick and helpful. Still, it's a bit daft when you have to install a firmware update (on Windows) first. Now runs perfectly.
