Outdoor Wi-Fi – Powerline for your garden
No Wi-Fi in your garden? The video you wanted to show everyone needs to be downloaded indoors first? Just in time for the warmer months, Devolo has a solution for garden owners with a weak Wi-Fi connection: Wi-Fi Outdoor.
The whole wireless in the green situation has always been a bit of an annoyance. So far there have been two options: Install a cumbersome power-over-Ethernet solution that needs to be hooked up to an Ethernet cable. Or get a repeater and a usually disappointingly connection to go with it.
But those days are over. Devolo has a solution for all you lucky garden owners out there. The company that made a name for itself with its Powerline solutions now has a product in stall for you.
Get full wireless coverage in your garden with the Powerline access point. In true Devolo fashion, the signal is distributed via the power supply instead of through the Ethernet cable. In other words, there’s no PoE (Power over Ethernet), no outdoor cable clutter and no power supply that needs to be protected. All you need to do is hook up Wi-Fi Outdoor to your power supply, stick a Devolo adapter in your router, connect, done. Use the app for iOS to configure your Wi-Fi outdoor and decide whether it should adopt the SSID or emit a new one.
Its IP 65 certification means that Wi-Fi Outdoor is resistant to all the elements and you don’t have to worry about it getting wet or the like.
In order to use Wi-Fi Outdoor, you need a counter piece that’s connected to the router.
