Are you looking for a baby monitor?

Baby monitor with night light, hygrometer, thermometer, intercom function, playback of lullabies or simply video functionality? Choosing a baby monitor is not easy from personal experience. I will introduce you to baby monitors with different functions to help you make your decision.
About a year ago, I was standing in your exact spot and had to fight my way through all the baby monitors. Video, is that what I want? No. I absolutely need to hear sounds. Night light? No, I have a lamp for that. Lullabies? Hmm...no, I have a music box for that. And so it went on for me and in the end I decided in favour of a standard model. When talking to other mums, I realised that the requirements for a baby monitor differ quite a bit. That's why I'm introducing you to the functions to help you make your decision.
Baby monitors with video function
A baby monitor with an integrated camera offers the advantage that you can not only hear your baby via sound, but also see a live image of your child at any time via a mobile screen. Thanks to night vision mode, a video image is also possible in complete darkness.

Babyphones with video function - compatible with iOS and/or Android
These baby monitors use your Android or Apple device as a monitoring screen thanks to the free app. At the same time, you can take snapshots or videos of your child and share them with your family or friends. And yes, there are also models for Windows Phone in the shop.
Baby phones with expandable cameras
Children's room, kitchen, living room or bathroom. Simply install a camera in the rooms where your baby spends the most time. This way, you always have them in view, even if you are not in the same room. Some manufacturers offer the option of expanding the baby monitor with additional cameras. In some cases, up to four cameras can be added to the portable screen.
Baby monitors with night light or playback option for lullabies
In order to create a relaxed atmosphere for the baby and gently accompany it to sleep, some baby monitor models not only offer an integrated night light, but also soothing lullabies. Depending on the device, these functions can be controlled remotely via an app or directly on the device.
Baby phones with sound perception
Parents can quickly recognise why a baby is crying by listening to the sounds. Is it simply a startle, crying or just turning in the cot? For this reason, I would recommend a model that allows automatic sound perception based on my own experience.
Babyphones with thermometer
Almost half of the devices offer temperature measurement. This option is ideal for keeping an eye on the temperature in the room. For example, if you have the window open to go to sleep and the temperature drops dramatically, the baby monitor will signal this to you. According to swissmom.ch, the optimum room temperature for babies to sleep is between 16 and 18 degrees. You can also try to aim for this temperature value with this function.
Baby phones with long range
Do you live on a farm, in a large area, spend a lot of time in the garden or otherwise travelling in and around the house? Standard models often offer you a range of up to 600 metres. However, some devices can be used over a range of more than 1000 metres. We recommend that you test the range yourself in advance before the child screams incessantly and nobody hears it.
Babyphones with hygrometer
A hygrometer is a device that is used to measure the humidity in the air. The optimum humidity is between 40 and 60%. Anything above this can lead to mould growth. If the heated air is too dry, the risk of catching a cold is increased because the mucous membranes can no longer fight off germs as effectively. As your baby cannot regulate its own body temperature, it can become restless if the humidity is too high or too low.
Favourable baby monitor alternative
If you only want to ensure acoustic monitoring of your baby, only need the device from time to time or need a second device, an inexpensive model is perfectly adequate
The special baby monitor
Why not just listen to your unborn baby? This slightly different baby monitor allows you to hear your baby's heartbeat, kicks and hiccups. This device can be used from the 12th to 14th week of pregnancy.
