Oculus
Oculus VR was founded in California in June 2012. The intended further development of a prototype for gaming-compatible VR glasses was financed by a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter in August 2012. The campaign reached almost 2.5 million dollars within 4 hours, 974% of the originally targeted total. The first developer kits of the glasses called Oculus Rift were delivered in March 2013, one year later the company was bought by Facebook.
