How did I live without a pair of noise cancelling headphones before?? So the Sony xm4, here is my review: the sound quality is amazing! All is controlled via the app so you kind of need a phone, unless all you care is in fact noise cancelling...Battery life is amazing! (30h on end). It is NOT waterproof so you should not exercise with them on. It couples to two devices at the same time via bluetooth, which I already found to be very useful i.e. listening to music and working on the laptop, to then be switched to the phone for a call...or viceversa for a video conference on the laptop. As for the noise cancelling capability: I think you will be disappointed if you expected complete total noise free feeling; high frequencies are hard to stop and so no, you will still hear your children crying. However it is good enough to muffle the ambience sound a great deal and put down any other noise by a good notch so that while you might still hear otherwise annoying noise, it starts being tolerable.
