You can see lots of detailed reviews of the operation of this watch online so I'll try to stick to look and feel here. ("Chigz" review on YouTube is excellent.)
The GTR 2 arrived 6 days ago and I'm mostly very happy with it. It's not quite a SMART watch and has no 3rd party appstore like Apple or WearOS but it does most functions with 10x better battery life. (5 days after charging, mine drained from 100% to 58% with auto-heart-rate every 10 minutes and sleep assistant turned on, AOD turned off and tracked 2 short workouts during that time.)
I think it looks great. It's quite large but thin, sleek and lightweight. And the full black color scheme keeps it looking reasonable on my (small-ish) wrist. The soft silicone strap is very comfortable but VERY plain so I'll try another one or two in different styles (it takes a standard 22mm strap). There are around 50 different watch faces available and counting; most are actually decent. And no, I have no idea why Galaxus does not (yet?) offer the Classic (stainless/leather) or square GTS 2 versions.
I'm not thrilled with the necessary Zepp phone app. It's disorganized, bloated and irritating to use. Try downloading it (free) and getting used to it before you buy the watch. I am hopeful that they will improve it. (How is "Enjoy" an acceptable tab heading for navigating within an app?) Fortunately, you can sync data with Google Fit, Strava and Relive.
The charging base is also disappointing. It feels a bit cheap and flimsy with a thin cable. Better to make it modular with a usb-c jack so I could use my own cable. I'll be looking for a spare.
But overall: Recommended! There are a lot of smart-ish watches on the market but very few offer >1 week battery life with similar features.
Caveat: If I was a competitive athlete, I'd be looking at a Garmin or Apple watch at 3x the price. But I am not. This Amazfit is just right for the couple of km that I can barely stagger through a few times per week.
