In the past I had a Roomba 780 and was quite happy with it. After it finally died after several years of uses, I bought the Neato D7 in March 2020 due to some good review videos.
In theory it comes with 5 year warranty, but within less than two months it failed - it stopped charging from the base. We contacted galaxus, but there was no response for several weeks. Like they didnt care! And I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years!
Then we contacted Neato, who asked us to send it to their 3rd party repair center (they don't seem to have their own repair centers in Europe).
Now after 2 weeks, they informed us that they can't fix it and it has water damage - really? the base station was always in the dry place, and there has been never water in the areas we used it (i.e. indoors, on the parquet).
They also didnt provide any evidence to support the claims and simply refuse to repair or replace it.
And meanwhile, galaxus continues to neglect this request.
So I spent 400 CHF on this product and learnt that it is unreliable, has terrible customer service from the manufacturer and Galaxus.
In sum, avoid at all costs!

These type of reviews are important so thank you for writing it. I was so hyped for Neato D8,D9,D10 that are coming now but I guess I will have to look elsewhere, since I cannot afford my new Neato going broken and the guarantee not covering it. Usually I'm quite pleased with the support from Galaxus but it seems that they seriously mistreated you in this particular case.
Thank you for writing this honest review. I had read your review before buying the Neato in May 2020. Unfortunately, I thought it was an isolated case and decided to buy the vacuum anyway. Like yours, my Neato has also failed within 3 months and I am receiving no help whatsoever from either Neato or Digitec/Galalux. I regret my purchase and will make sure to write a detailed review so others don't make the same mistake I did.
I just want to add for the sake of argument that I bought a Neato D7 anyway because it was so cheap and still seemed to be among the best vacuums out there. I have had it for 3 months now and it works very well and Impressed by the suction capabilities. So basically I'm very happy with it. We'll see in the coming year though...
I would really recommend the IRobot line for any other people though. Much more expensive but much more solid and hardy and with a better company behind it, in case any issues arises.
I'm psyched about the coming years and how much the robot vacuums will develop. There's a lot of growth that can be made there.
