Well designed, super-solid 16x10 monitors

This is my first ASUS monitor, and I have to say, I am quite satisfied.

I am perhaps fortunate in that there is zero bleed on my panel, so the IPS panel looks absolutely gorgeous. I mostly use it for coding, reading, and touching up the odd image/photograph, and the monitor's been nicely calibrated at the factory (there's a little paper chart included with all the details; there's also a direct comparison with my Dell U2412M, which, while also factory calibrated doesn't feel quite as tight).

I'd be remiss not to mention the sheer robustness of the display. We're talking old school, 2cm thick bezel (depth, the monitor is very tastefully designed and it would be no problem putting several of them in a nice VESA setup), the base is a suitable large, heavy square slab of what could pass for modernist marble, all in all, there's no bending, no creaking, no "oh crap, I touched the table when rotating the screen" moments. It's the best-built monitor since one of the Viewsonic CRTs from way back when. Keeps the image quality constant after many moves and minor accidents.

Unfortunately, I keep planning on playing some games, but work gets in the way, so I can't speak of whether the panel can keep up with whatever one needs to stay alive in an FPS. For any other need, and considering the price, the ASUS is a solid investment.

Systems: Linux (mostly Fedora, mostly Gnome), variety of desktop and laptop GeForce and Quadro GPUs, Intel iGPUs via HDMI, DVI or DP (+converters) depending on what other hardware is around.
