Well after 24 hours of non stop use at level 2 my Tizio 35 hasn't overheated or turned itself off. It's not even especially warm to the touch. If you're absolutely sure you're using a 35w bulb and your lamp keeps shutting off I'd suggest bringing it back.
Oh. Ok. I have the same lamp and bulb type as you do , my bulb is made by Phillips. It is also 35w (=50w). I haven't noticed any strange behavior yet. After seeing your question I will do a stress test with my lamp for 24 Hours at lamp level 2. If anything odd happens I'll let you know. I've only had the lamp since last week so I can't really tell you if that's a common problem or not. I hope not... PS (My Tizio has been on since the past hour at level 2, it isn't especially warm yet)...
The lamp itself doesn't feel especially warm when it shuts down (the bulb does, of course). This is the second such lamp I've had (this is a replacement for the old one). Great lamp, but had this problem with the other one as well at times. Lamp stays on the high level almost continuously. Lower level or wattage bulb would not provide enough light. I'm going to try the bigger lamp (a little large though). Thanks - Let me know how your test go.
The lamp. The light went out, so I turned off the lamp. After awhile I turned it on again and it was okay. However, again, the light went off after some time. Tried this several times. It's like the lamp overheats and needs to cool down. Doesn't appear to be the bulb.
