Question sur Lenovo ThinkPad E580 (15.60", Full HD, Intel Core i7-8550U, 32Go, SSD)

I'd like to put optional secondary HDD inside this laptop, according to the datasheet provided by Digitec this laptop can drive Up to 2TB (5400 RPM) SATA HDD. This drive needs 1.80W power according to Seagate BarraCuda datasheet, and 4TB version requires 2.10W. Is this simply a voltage limitation from motherboard or can I still add bigger drive e.g. 4TB?

I doubt, that you will have any power limitations on harddrives, as they are all standardized and need to function properly in any kind of PC/Laptop/etc. If you can connect it and fit it in your laptop, it will work.

Hey, thanks for comment, why do they point out explicitly this then:

"Up to 500GB (7200 RPM); 2TB (5400 RPM) 2.5 SATA HDD; Dual Drive storage (Optional)"
static.digitecgalaxus.ch/Fi...

This was the reason I started wondering, otherwise I would have bought 4TB already. I thought it was because of certain wattage.
I will order 2.5" 4TB SATA and will see what happens. Fitting wouldn't be a problem and the connector is also there... :)

These are just the actual variations of drives other models come preinstalled with. Just make sure the drive is not too thick.
