Question about Xiaomi Mi Airdots Pro

My new airdots do not have a microphone function. Tested with ubuntu 19.10, windows 10, android 9. All devices can connect and pair, offer the option mic,speaker and headset. None of the options turn the microphone on... What is going wrong?
