Programmable or not?
Is there an easier way to find out whether a calculator is programmable or not than searching the manufacturers? I am looking for a calculator for my studies that is not programmable but can still solve systems of equations.

What really irritates me about the pocket calculators are the many pictures of old models on many Casio and Texas Instruments models. I strongly assume that the new models are being sold here.

As a maths ignoramus, most calculators unfortunately put me off. However, I would find it enormously practical to have a calculator with which you can convert all kinds of units... Is there such a thing? Or would I have to buy a monster like the TI-92 (I had one at school ;)) and program it myself?

Is it possible that the teacher packages are more expensive than 30 x the individual price of the calculator (example TI 30X Plus MathPrint - 807.00 CHF)?

Is there actually a calculator for fraction terms with any letters (a,b,c, etc.)?

A little tip for budding ETH first-timers (especially mechanical engineering): Texas Instruments Ti-89 or Voyage 200. Basically, calculators like the Nspires are nice to have, but they are not allowed on any exam. In addition, there are already many programmes and scripts precisely for studying on various pages of the ETH subject associations.
