What is the current practice, is it allowed to charge car batteries in underground garages? I mean, is it technically considered safe enough?
I have recently bought a few Noco chargers (various models). I'm actually very satisfied with the charging performance, but I think the Ctek chargers are better in terms of safety. My Noco 10 has already overcharged two batteries. In the case of several batteries that were recognised as defective by my other chargers and were no longer charged, Noco charged (positively for the time being). Although it is possible to bring a battery back to "life" in one case or another, there is a risk that Noco will not complete the charging process correctly and the battery will start to gas, which can be quite dangerous. Just three weeks ago Noco charged a battery (1 year old) for me so much that the whole battery case was totally blown up and deformed. My verdict is Noco yes, but only well monitored and not as a charger for continuous / floating charging. Also, some Noco models do not deliver what is promised. Certain charging modes cannot be activated. Also, the Noco 10 does not manage to communicate with the BMW bus system (landing via on-board socket not possible). Caution is advised with older or defective batteries.
Yes, I have used the device for running in the VW bus to get much more continuous current.
