The description says "failover to WAN". But is the reverse also possible? Normal operation via WAN and in the event of a failure switch to 4g?

I have the 4G-AC68U in use. And yes - your request works. In the settings you can set the primary mode. So either WAN or the mobile broadband. Am very satisfied with this device, by the way.

I have the BRT-AC828 at hand - but the software is similar/same.
You can select the primary "WAN" (4G is also a wide area network) and the secondary WAN.
For the mode, you can select "Failure Protection" or "Load Balancing".
