I bought 2 notebooks and took them with me to Brazil. When starting up, only the English and Chinese languages appear. Is it possible to change this to Portuguese? Or what do I have to do? Thank you for your answer
Dear Mr Zimmermann,
There are several easy ways to change the language.
The simplest method is to start up the device in English (or German, or a language of your choice) and go through the basic settings. It is best to go through this phase without an Internet connection and first set up a local account, e.g. Admin. The procedure is a bit cumbersome but very helpful later on. Then restart the system and set up the Internet connection.
Then go to the settings (or in the control panel) and select Add a new language in the Language menu item. Select your desired language Portuguese from the language list. After the system has downloaded and set it up, you will see the added language and can move it to the first position as your preferred language. After a restart, you may find yourself
may have to log in in the original language for the first time. After another restart, you will then work in Portuguese.
Another possibility would be to download the complete W11 system in a language pack with Portuguese. I don't have the exact download link right now, but you will certainly find it on the Microsoft website. With this download package you then have to create a bootable USB stick and set up the system from scratch. This can also be done very safely.
However, both procedures require some sound knowledge of the processes involved.
I would also be happy to help you with these processes directly, e.g. with remote maintenance. However, the Community terms and conditions do not allow the disclosure of contact details. If it should be of any use to you, I would ask you to ask the customer service for my e-mail address. I will gladly give you my consent to do so.
I wish you good luck and a great time in Brazil.
That's funny.
We were able to select German when we first started ours.
I don't know about Portuguese.
