-1x Large (laptop compartment is also included in this compartment, so Yes, connected).
-2x Small (top and side lengthwise)
-No rain cover included

The backpack has a large main compartment with laptop compartment and a small separate zipped compartment (e.g. for keys).
The laptop compartment is part of the main compartment (i.e. connected).
The main compartment can be accessed either from the top or from the back (where there is a circumferential zipper).
No rain cover included (but our backpack is waterproof itself).
Can highly recommend the backpack.
