Question about Sony Xdr-S60dbp

I find this Sony device good and practical, but I only use it to listen to the radio. The sound is rather weak. I don't have much experience with battery operation, but I notice that the "power juice" decreases faster than expected.

I have not found any indication in the user manual that the radio has an alarm function. http://pdf.crse.com/manuals...
