No, this lens is not compatible with the Z cameras. You need lenses with a Z bayonet. This lens is an F bayonet.

Hello,
I can't say anything concrete about compatibility with z50, because I have a NIKON D300. But: this lens did not work well with D300. Many blurred photos of the windsurfers at the ocean, big disappointment.... Otherwise, I highly appreciate TAMRON company, as I have worked with them professionally for a long time. Their experts were also very surprised, but they couldn't find a good answer. Maybe it was the autofocus system of the D300... "Normal" photos like landscape etc. were OK. Since then I prefer to use original NIKKOR lenses. Maybe this will help you to decide...
Greetings, Dusan
