Hello ! sorry - as clear as day - I should have thought of it myself. The end user of the GS105PE should be a PTZ camera. If there is still enough power available, a 4W IP camera should be added.
Unfortunately, I don't know how much power the GS105 itself needs, and protocols are often sloppily designed with regard to power standards... the PTZ camera is supposed to draw a maximum of 15W.
I wanted to do without an injector and I still need an 8-port switch anyway.
The cable length between the 8-port switch and the Gs105 is about 6-7 metres. (voltage drop )
What is feasible ?
Thanks in advance for the answer !
Hello,
The question can be answered better if you tell us what exactly is to be connected to the GS105PE, in particular what PoE power is required at the one (or even two) outputs. With a "classic" PoE or 802.3af there is only little power left for the PoE connections ( ) and many devices "demand" more, even if the power is not needed at all. A realistic solution is to supply power via any PoE+ or 802.3at switch, in which case a PoE device that requires the full 15.xW is definitely possible. There is then little left for the second PoE.
Greetings
