Ubiquiti UAP-AC-SHD

Number

UAP-AC-SHD-5, Unifi Decken/Wand AP

Description

Ubiquiti's AP-AC-SHD UniFi access points allow you to build WLAN networks of any size. Whether you have just one UniFi access point or a dozen (or more) of them, a single centralized management center makes controlling, managing and monitoring your network manageable and efficient.

Secure connections on all channels
The SHD (Secure High Density) model was specially developed for highly sensitive data connections. A dedicated security radio constantly scans the spectrum of the frequency environment. This checks the network for potentially harmful activities and the best network performance. The access point serves simultaneously as a Wireless Intrusion Prevention/Detection System (WIPS/WIDS) on all channels.

UniFi Controller Software
The UniFi Controller software allows you to manage all access points in your network and obtain detailed information on system traffic. The UniFi controller is also equipped with hotspot functionality and provides your customers with extensive options and possibilities in this respect: Integration for credit card payments, voucher-based authentication, Hotspot Manager for creating vouchers and much more. The software's dashboard also provides you with an overview of all important and current information about your network at all times.

802.11ac Wave 2 technology
The original 802.11ac Wave 1 SU-MIMO (Single-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology allowed past generation access points to communicate with only one client at a time. The novel 802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO technology (multi-user, multiple input, multiple output) now makes it possible to communicate with multiple clients simultaneously, which has a very positive effect on the user experience.

Access points + Repeaters

In computer networking, a wireless access point (AP) is a device that allows wireless devices to connect to a wired network using Wi-Fi, or related standards. The AP usually connects to a router (via a wired network) if it's a standalone device, or is part of a router itself.

Wall

A wall (from Latin parietes) is a usually solid structure that defines and sometimes protects an area, but always verticle. Most commonly, a wall delineates a building and supports its superstructure, separates space in buildings into rooms, or protects or delineates a space in the open air. There are three principal types of structural walls: building walls, exterior boundary walls, and retaining walls.

WPA-PSK

Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) is a certification program administered by the Wi-Fi Alliance to indicate compliance with the security protocol created by the Wi-Fi Alliance to secure wireless computer networks. This protocol was created in response to several serious weaknesses researchers had found in the previous system, Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). PSK means that it is only for Pre-Shared-Key mode

,
WPA2-PSK
i

WPA2-PSK

The advanced protocol, certified through Wi-Fi Alliance's WPA2 program, implements the mandatory elements of 802.11i. In particular, it introduces a new AES-based algorithm, CCMP, that is considered fully secure. From March 13, 2006, WPA2 certification is mandatory for all new devices wishing to be certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance as "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED." PSK means that it is only for Pre-Shared-Key mode.

WEP
i

WEP

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a security algorithm for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. Introduced as part of the original 802.11 standard ratified in September 1999, its intention was to provide data confidentiality comparable to that of a traditional wired network.

WPA-EAP
i

WPA-EAP

WPA contains the architecture of WEP, but provides additional protection through dynamic keys based on the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) and offers pre-shared key (PSK) or Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) authentication via IEEE 802.1X.
EAP - Extensible Authentication Protocol RFC 3748 (Request for Comments) is a general authentication protocol developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that supports various authentication methods (such as user name/password (RADIUS), electronic certification, SIM (Subscriber Identity Module), etc.). EAP is often used for access control in WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) networks.

WPA2-EAP

Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) is the implementation of a security standard for wireless networks according to the WLAN standards IEEE 802.11a, b, g and n and is based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). It is the successor of WPA, which is based on Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), which is now considered unsafe. WPA2 implements the basic features of the new IEEE 802.11i security standard.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a method by which network-compatible devices can be supplied with power via the 8-core Ethernet cable. In the narrower sense, PoE today usually refers to the standard 802.3af with up to 15.4 watts power output. With 802.3at, also known as PoE+ or PoE plus before standardization, the maximum power output has been increased from 15.4W to 25.5W.

802.11n

802.11n is a proposed amendment which improves upon the previous 802.11 standards by adding multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and many other newer features. Though there are already many products on the market based on Draft 2.0 of this proposal, the TGn workgroup is not expected to finalize the amendment until November 2008.
