Description

The new SP 70-200mm F/2.8 G2 telephoto lens is a further development of the celebrated A009 model, but with improved optical performance, improved VC image stabilizer, higher AF speed and accuracy and shorter MOD (close-up) for more flexibility.

In addition, compatibility with Tamron teleconverters provides additional focal length. The innovative technology of the SP series has been retained, making the lens durable, flexible and durable enough for any occasion.

High resolution meets beautiful Bokeh

Every aspect of the SP 70-200 mm F/2.8 G2 Zoom has been improved, resulting in high image quality and improved overall bokeh. Optical design features include XLD (particularly low dispersion, eXtra Low Dispersion) and LD (low dispersion) glass to prevent chromatic aberrations over the entire sharpness range. This ensures optimum resolution - even at the edges. The eBAND coating specially developed for this new zoom offers excellent anti-reflection properties that significantly reduce stray light and ghosting. The refined bokeh provides spectacular background effects from almost every angle.

MOD reduced to 0.95 m

The improvements to the new SP 70-200 mm F/2.8 G2 also extend to the lens barrel. Tamron has reduced the close-up limit (MOD) from 1.3 m to 0.95 m on the older models, allowing a maximum magnification of 1:6.1. With the shorter MOD, combined with the excellent optical performance of this new zoom lens, a much wider range of perspectives is now open to you.

Extremely fast and precise AF motor

In addition to the two high-performance microcomputers, the ring-shaped USD ultrasonic motor (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) ensures excellent speed and accuracy in focusing. Manual focus, which is possible at any time, also allows fine adjustments with AF without changing from autofocus to manual focus mode.

The VC image stabilizer compensates up to 5 f-stops

Tamron's world-leading image stabilization (VC) in this class compensates for 5 f-stops according to CIPA standards. In addition, this lens offers three VC modes to choose from, including one setting exclusively for pan shots. You can adjust the VC mode to your shooting conditions at any time and take sharper, shake-free shots from your hand - even in low light.

Compatible with TAMRON TAPin ConsoleTM and two exclusive teleconverters

The two exclusive tele-converters offer a magnification of 1.4x and 2.0x and were developed to match the optics of the SP 70-200mm F/2.8 G2. They offer a maximum zoom range of up to 400 mm. The optional TAP-in console allows you to adjust lens firmware, fine tune autofocus and VC settings from your computer.

The future is here. You can now update firmware and adjust the autofocus positions, mechanical setup and presets of the SP 70-200 mm G2 by simply attaching it to the TAMRON TAP-in console and connecting it to a computer via USB.
