A telephone directory contains an alphabetical list of all subscribers in a telephone network, usually divided into regions, together with their associated and unique telephone numbers. Not included are secret numbers or telephone numbers for which the customer has objected to an entry or does not wish to be published in the print media (publication on CD-ROM, on the Internet or via the information is nevertheless possible). Due to the many addresses included, telephone directories can also be used as an address book.

Hands-free kit

A hands-free car kit, hands-free car kit or HFCK is a combination of speaker and microphone permanently installed in a device (e.g. mobile phone) or vehicle. The name is derived from the fact that neither loudspeakers nor microphones have to be routed to the ear or mouth, so hands remain free. Therefore, the term is also mistakenly used for so-called headsets.

Display size
i

Display size

The size of a display is typically given as the distance between two opposite screen corners. One problem with this method is that it does not distinguish between the aspect ratios of monitors with identical diagonal sizes, in spite of the fact that a shape of a given diagonal span's area decreases as it becomes less square. For example, a 4:3 21" monitor has an area of ~211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" widescreen has an area of only ~188 square inches.
