Reflecta x9-Scan (USB)

Description

With a resolution of 5 megapixels and an extremely fast scan time of 1 second for one scan,
the reflecta x9-Scan delivers scans in top quality. The scanner is PC independent, i.e. scanning via
the PC is not possible.

Due to the supplied rechargeable battery or mains adapter, the scanner can be used everywhere. The scanned images are stored on an SD/SDHC card (not included) and can be viewed immediately on the 2.4" LDC display. Negatives are automatically converted to positives. Using the USB cable it is possible to read out the scans on the PC and then edit them with an image editing program if desired. Viewing via TV is also possible.

A high scanning efficiency is achieved by using the slide or film holder and thus ultimately represents a time saving.

Card reader
i

Card reader

A card reader is a data input device that reads data from a card-shaped storage medium. Historically, paper or cardboard punched cards were used throughout the first several decades of the computer industry to store information and write programs for computer system, and these were read by punched card readers. More modern card readers are electronic devices that use plastic cards imprinted with barcodes, magnetic strips, computer chips or other storage medium.

Up to a point, printers with higher DPI produce clearer and more detailed output. A printer does not necessarily have a single DPI measurement; it is dependent on print mode, which is usually influenced by driver settings. The range of DPI supported by a printer is most dependent on the print head technology it uses. A dot matrix printer, for example, applies ink via tiny rods striking an ink ribbon, and has a relatively low resolution, typically in the range of 60 to 90 DPI. An inkjet printer sprays ink through tiny nozzles, and is typically capable of 300-600 DPI.[1] A laser printer applies toner through a controlled electrostatic charge, and may be in the range of 600 to 1800 DPI.

Colour depth
i

Colour depth

Color depth is a computer graphics term describing the number of bits used to represent the color of a single pixel in a bitmapped image or video frame buffer. This concept is also known as bits per pixel (bpp), particularly when specified along with the number of bits used. Higher color depth gives a broader range of distinct colors.

24 bit (16.7 million colours)

True color is a term from computer technology (graphics cards) and refers to a color depth of 24 bits (3×8 bits, corresponds to 224 ≈ 16.78 million colors). Images of this colour depth give the human observer a natural impression.

Common examples found in offices are variations of the desktop (or flatbed) scanner where the document is placed on a glass window for scanning. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, were briefly popular but are now less common due to the difficulty of obtaining a high-quality image.

i

CMOS

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) is a term for semiconductor devices that use both p-channel and n-channel MOSFETs on a common substrate. CMOS technology refers to both the semiconductor process used to realize integrated digital and analog circuits and a logic family. CMOS technology is the most widely used logic family today and is mainly used for integrated circuits.

Display properties

i

Display properties

A display device is an output device for presentation of information for visual, tactile or auditory reception, acquired, stored, or transmitted in various forms. When the input information is supplied as to electrical signal, the display is called electronic display. Electronic displays are available for presentation of visual, tactile and auditory information.

Display size
i

Display size

The size of a display is typically given as the distance between two opposite screen corners. One problem with this method is that it does not distinguish between the aspect ratios of monitors with identical diagonal sizes, in spite of the fact that a shape of a given diagonal span's area decreases as it becomes less square. For example, a 4:3 21" monitor has an area of ~211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" widescreen has an area of only ~188 square inches.

10.5 (Leopard)

In Leopard, the user interface of the system and especially the Finder has been significantly revised; the concept of virtual desktops has been adopted with spaces from some Linux variants. It also includes Time Machine backup software and Boot Camp, which allows Microsoft Windows to be installed on Intel-based Macs in parallel with Mac OS X. Leopard enables 64-bit operation for applications with a graphical user interface. In addition, it is the first BSD derivative to meet the commercial certification Single Unix Specification '03 of the Open Group and may therefore bear the brand name "UNIX".
