Mixed impression, brackets unfortunately made of brittle plastic

***Update*** I was asked by galaxus to submit the light (incl. packaging & accessories) as an RMA. A good two weeks later I have it back incl. new handlebar mount and rubber rings. Unnecessarily complicated, but OK.

    ***Supplement""
As expected, one of the rubber rings broke after only 4 weeks. This rubber ring solution is just junk. Why they don't just offer decent clamps is beyond me. One remote now refuses to work (it still lights up and sends a signal now and then, but mostly nothing happens). The Velcro system is simply prone to wear and tear. The battery has already come loose twice. That can have nasty consequences in connection with the front wheel. Also not good: The handlebar mount made of cheap plastic. On one of them, the mounting holes for the lamp itself are already broken. On both sides, without warning.

It is a double-edged sword. The lamp itself is very well made and also looks good. The mounting for the handlebar, on the other hand, is made of plastic and I think the O-ring mounting is a poor choice. Unfortunately, hardly any supplier manages to make really good and well thought-out, practical mounts. It seems to me that mostly theorists are at work who have never even tried out what the handling is like. In my opinion, the mount is the big weak point and simply not very practical. The illumination is good, the range is okay, but could be longer. Unfortunately, the strongest light level is not permanent. Unfortunately, the remote cannot be synchronised (1 for 2 Zeta). Since the plugs are very tight, plugging and unplugging becomes a bit of an ordeal, especially if you have to do it every day. I also think the charging time could have been shortened with a better charger. 1A is rather little when you compare it to today's smartphone chargers. The chargers also get quite hot.

    Pro

    • Design and workmanship of the lamp itself (but cheap plastic handlebar mount breaks quickly).
    • Practical remote controller (if you need it)
    • Range of accessories okay (a transport bag would not have been bad)
    • Batteries are well packed, but nothing pretty
    • Brightness, illumination
    • Reaction of passers-by, motorists and so on (whole range from astonished to annoyed)
    • Makes motorists pass you more slowly, some even stop completely :D

    Contra

    • Handling of the handlebar posture and the choice of material: Plastic
    • Tilt angle for handlebar position adjustable at two points = totally unnecessary, even impractical
    • O-ring fastening (Oh winter, don't make my rubber rings stiff and brittle)
    • Cable :(
    • Rubber rings, rubber rings, rubber rings are simply not a good solution!!!
    • The Velcro system reveals its clear weaknesses after 2 months of almost daily use
    • One remote defective after less than two months
    • Manufacturer's service simply non-existent. Mails are not answered
    • Different light cones and slightly different colour of the light (comparison of two Xeccon Zeta)
