    Functionally broken

The firmware for the network is completely bala. Slow, network interruptions every 3-5 minutes, making streaming impossible. (2nd disk from digitec already in exchange). DNS of device conflicts with router DNS. Workaround with static IP and outside the DHCP range does not work either. Direct connection with own hostspot also brings network interruptions.
Nothing against the WD hard drives themselves, I have a few in use, but if you want a WiFi drive, better buy something with SeaGate firmware or Lacie. At least that works.

Perfect for photographers who travel a lot and want to back up their photos easily, safely and quickly.

The automatic download works perfectly and quite quickly with 128GB CF via USB adapter and 128GB SD via USB adapter and internal reader. Connecting via WIFI is problem-free - as is connecting to the internet/network. The app (my Cloud), however, is a little hard to use and takes some getting used to - and cannot display RAW files. It is possible via the Plex Player, but not necessarily what you want.
What doesn't work is the direct reading of the two memory cards of my Nikon 810, but that's not a problem.
All in all - the device does very well what it is supposed to do, namely save my photos on the go - and that without any connections or other gimmicks. (except for a CF adapter)

    Pro

    • Download of files works perfectly for memory cards
    • long battery life
    • Easy integration into the network with the usual security standards
    • Admin functions via built-in web server

    Contra

    • App cannot display RAW files

    Absolutely recommended purchase for photographers

the perfect backup solution for photographers. In my tests with two 64 GB Sandisk Extreme Pro memory cards filled to the brim (approx. 1450 RAW files per card), these were each transferred to the hard disk fully automatically in approx. 15 minutes, which is really very fast.
In connection with the RAW editor "Photo Mate R3" available for Android, I can even access the RAW files on the hard disk with my Nexus 9 tablet (and I can even see the clean thumbnails of the RAW files with this RAW editor!!!) and can edit them directly on the tablet after I have copied them locally to my Android tablet.

    Pro

    • Speed
    • big battery
    • inexpensive

    Contra

    • Dimensions and weight (the whole thing could be much more compact and lighter with an SSD)
