    Buy recommendation

    I had a Steelseries Sensei MLG laser mouse for a very long time, but unfortunately, the surrounding area slowly but surely disintegrated. With the purchase of a new mousepad and the Rival 700 promotion on Digitec, I decided to send the Sensei into a well-deserved, albeit functionally unnecessary, retirement.

    Compared to the Sensei (and also my 0815 HP mouse in the shop), the Rival 700 is a real heavyweight. At first, I found it very difficult to make precise movements. In the meantime, however, I have got used to it relatively well.
    Similarly unusual in my view is the pressure point of the mouse wheel. With other mice, you can press the wheel almost as quickly as a normal left or right click, but with the Rival the pressure point is so high that this is only possible with some effort. But here, too, you get used to it (especially since the mouse wheel is not usually clicked so quickly ;) ).

    Besides the mouse as a whole and the lighting options, I find it very nice that it is easy to grip even with larger hands (like mine). The "knob coating" on the sides requires a little getting used to, but after a short time it is no longer annoying. From my point of view, a special plus point is the fact that both the cable and the sensor can be replaced if necessary; in the case of the cable, two variants are even supplied.

    All in all, I can only recommend the mouse and its extremely precise sensor. I justify the one-star deduction for functionality with the two con points, as they are mentioned here in the text and in the list accordingly. Nevertheless, I believe that the mouse deserves 5 stars as an overall rating.

    PS: I personally do not use the haptic feedback functions or the mini display. Both are therefore not included in this rating.

    For me the FPS gaming mouse of the year

    Usual SteelSeries quality and built for gamers! I use the mouse mainly for CS GO. The software for mouse functions, display, lighting and vibrations can be adjusted extensively. And SteelSeries has finally got the right size for the hand with the Rival 700.
