    Very great Android device.

I am very grateful to Sony for the "smaller" smartphones. All the Samsungs, LGs, Motorolas, One+Ones etc. are getting bigger and bigger. For my smaller hands, Sony's Compact series is ideal.
I switched to this new model
    from Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.

At first I was sceptical about the material (plastic), but it feels fantastic in the hand. And not at all cheap, very classy on the contrary. The 720p display is absolutely sufficient, has strong colours and looks great. The battery lasts easily 3 days or even more with my use (about 1h/day video, lots of music, and occasional messaging) (charged only 4 times between 28.09.2016 and 12.10.2016). The battery charges very quickly with the charger, I think in about 1 or 1.5 hours.

It is my first smartphone with a fingerprint sensor, which is relatively fast. I find that OK, but not a must. The USB Type-C standard takes a bit of getting used to, because all my previous devices had Micro-USB. That means I now have to buy 2-3 new, longer USB Type-C cables/adapters. The cam is OK. In daylight the pictures are fantastic, in room light the cam is brought to its knees.

Like the Xperia Z1 Compact, this Xperia X Compact is not compatible with the Sony MDR-1R in-house headphones. The remote control on the cable of the headphones only works play/pause, volume down/volume up does not work, but the microphone still works flawlessly. As all reviews say, this beautiful smartphone is very attractive for fingerprints. Everywhere, on the display and the back. The security patterns are therefore visible. However, this problem is solved with the fingerprint sensor.

To sum it all up, I am very satisfied.

Hardware top; software test of patience if you are data-sensitive

Good mobile phone if you like it compact. The only criticism: on the installed Android version, you can set a lot by hand, but by default, data giant Google makes it difficult for the user to avoid total Google surveillance. With patience you can reach your goal.

    For compact lovers.

Design: It is compact. And you can carry it in your pocket.

Performance: The camera lags 2-3 seconds after you take a photo.

Features: So the camera is disappointing, I had a 1+1 (release 2014) earlier which took much
better photos, If you have a bright light in the picture it pulls threads/streaks, that bothers me tremendously. (Too many megapixels)

Finish: It's plastic, which doesn't bother me at all. But the gaps the phone has between the back and top/bottom are different sizes. Looks a bit cheap, unfortunately. From the front and top/bottom/left/right it looks smart.

Battery: lasts 2-3 days for me. In idle mode, it consumes about 0.5% battery per hour with WiFi and GPS.

    Bloatware: Facebook,Lifelog,Amazon,Lounge,Movie Creator, News suite,Playstation,Spotify, Sketch,Avg-protection,Whats new.
    Can only be deactivated, unfortunately.

Speakers: Bass is not so great, the bass already clangs a little at medium volume (or it is hardly present) Compared to the 1+1 a downgrade. But they are usable (you can already listen to music with them).

The included headphones are unusable, and the colour "Mist blue" is actually grey. Currently updateable to Android 7.1.1.

The reason to buy is the size, it makes up for all the negative points. I can't do anything with the 5'' and 5.5'', you can't take them in your pocket like you used to. But the x compact does, so I still give it 5 stars :)

    Test time: 1 month
