Very good device. I waited a long time for a replacement for my Samung Galaxy Note 2014 and the S3 Tab meets the requirements I had:
- Pen input
- SD card
The pen is excellent, the speed when writing/noting on PDFs is very good. It's very light compared to the Surface Pro I was also considering and you can read for hours on it without hand fatigue - it's lighter than most books. Everything else works as expected: it's fast, good battery life, looks good, is bright with very good image quality.

Migration from the Galaxy Tab S (SM-T800) to the new S3 SM-T820 (without LTE), which increasingly needed patience for inefficient apps such as NZZ. Slightly smaller, lighter, much smoother, finger scanner works well - so far everything is better, except for the Wi-Fi reception: In the bedroom, despite the AC network, hardly anything works (connection constantly breaks down), while it worked fine with the Tab S, incl. Netstream videos, etc. Analysis shows that the wifi signal on the S3 is approx. 3-6 dB weaker than on the old Tab S - apparently the antenna gain is significantly worse ... It's a pity that more attention wasn't paid to this point - now I'll probably have to install an additional access point after all.
Additional comments:
1. the Tab S was 'ahead of the field' in terms of WLAN reception - both MS Surfacebook and iPads are significantly worse and about on the same level as the S3.
2. missing rating field for performance: 3-4 stars, 5 for better WLAN reception and more storage (64 GB) or better use of external storage.
