Mounting the spotlight lamp. Simple. And downright a joy thanks to the included mounting hardware. I mean - the folks at Ring don't just supply screws and dowels. They even supply a matching screwdriver. And as a cherry on top - even a matching drill. That alone gives the people from Ring first place in terms of service. But now the connection itself. Actually, it's almost boring. You put the battery into the camera, close the compartment and that's it for now.
The installation is extremely simple on the software side. By the way, the part also does a software update fully automatically.
Now to the settings. There are quite a few. How far the sensitivity of the sensors - you can divide the room in front of the camera into different areas, or you can set a time period within which the lamps do not react at all. During the day, for example. That saves battery. Speaking of battery. The lamp has two compartments for lithium-ion batteries. One battery is included.
About the light. When this thing turns on, it gets bright. Really bright. Not just a little LED sparkle, as you know it from the cheap China LEDs. Despite the fact that the part is "only" powered by battery, the light is enough to illuminate a large and wide area. What is still pleasant about the light - it is "warm tone". So with a larger red or yellow portion. On the contrary to the neutral or "cold white" LEDs.
Conclusion: A very good addition to the "Ring" system. So the Doorbell Pro and the Chime. After all, it makes sense to screw all four wheels to your car. It goes somehow also with three tires, but with four... Therefore, the part also has my recommendation and the full score.

What has particularly annoyed me is that I no longer have access after 30 days.no live pictures, no feedback simply switched off. I had to learn afterwards via the support of Ring, that I bought a trial subscription with the hardware and you only works so. Neither in the online shop under products of the manufacturer nor under Digitec, specification, etc. is pointed out that you have to take out this subscription.
Even on my questions about data security (DSG) at the support of the manufacturer (ring), they said that these are stored in the personal account. They did not want to or could not tell me more. I do not recommend any customer to solve an iCloud subscription, whose products manufacturers (USA / China / Russia) are.
That I am now forced after the fact to solve a subscription, I will not accept. Because I bought a Spotlight Cam with battery, without additional options.

For resolution HD more expected, such as Netatmo Presence. Mobile app takes time. Last results are shown without preimages, cumbersome because everything must be clicked through. Battery runtime with me about 1 month, will now stock up on 2nd battery and solar for the winter time. then should be rest, no battery charging more necessary because enough reserve. Solar panel is also used as rain protection for the cam. Both cams are outdoors and in the rain you are subsequently blurred image for about 2 hours. (drops)
