    No buy recommendation

Picture and sound are fine. It's a pity that Philips uses the fragile Android operating system.
This leads to constant crashes and many apps from the App Store (e.g. Crossy Road)
won't run and cause the TV to crash completely!
    The
volume changes constantly by itself, although the automatic volume levelling is set to OFF.
This is extremely annoying, especially during news programmes.
These deficiencies are standard with Philips (state of the art), because a replacement set did not bring any improvement.

    Great TV with Ambilight 3!

This TV makes a great impression!
I had Ambilight 2 before and for all those who can no longer do without Ambilight, the upgrade to Ambilight 3 is highly recommended! ;o) The sound bar mounted under the screen not only makes
very good and clear sound, it is also very practical as it "hides" the view for other hidden devices or cable clutter behind the TV...;o)
Still, I think you could have raised the screen height a little. However, with suitable living walls, this is not a problem that you couldn't manage...As for the settings and menu navigation, everything is very clearly designed.
From the integrated channel guide, to the "picture-in-picture" function, to the Internet operation such as YouTube, Google, etc. using the keyboard behind the remote control, everything is TOP!

Clearly thumbs up! Only to be recommended!

Basically a very good picture and price-performance BUT the operating system leaves a lot to be desired

The Philips basically has a very good picture BUT the operating system leaves a lot to be desired.

For people like me who only stream (Internet TV like Zattoo, NetFlix and YouTube), the usability and reliability of the
user interface (Android) is very poor and delayed.

On the one hand, there are striking delays between remote control and something happening. On the other hand, apps (like Zattoo and YouTube) crash relatively often. You also have to deal with Android updates immediately after purchase.

One thing is for sure: Zattoo is very bad on the device. Crashes regularly, has no search function, poor UI and picture quality catastrophic (at 20MBps DSL) especially for football/rugby.

Probably more for real TV (DVB, cable or satellite).

    Contra

    • Operability (Android)
    • Picture quality (Zattoo)
    • Sound rather moderate
