I am very satisfied with the start-up and one week of use.
=> At the moment I am still using the 704 with a Full HD TV (Sony W905). The picture is perfect here and meets my personal picture requirements (previously DMP-BDT500).
- Plays my tested 3D as well as 2D Blu-Rays flawlessly (tried 5 each).
- The same applies to the UHD disc Independence Day I.
- Mkv files from the NAS also run (15 different ones tried).
- I was also able to play my own 4K pictures and 4K films (camera) without any problems.
- The operating noise is not perceptible to me even during quiet film passages (drive like fan).
- GUI responds very well.
- The player has a high-quality feel to it.

Does what it has to do. Picture is top (4K 60 4:4:4). I can say the same about the sound. The player is connected via separate HMDI to a Denon amplifier with Dolby Atmos. I have nothing to rule out about the software either. If someone has problems, they should first check the HDMI cable. Many cables don't live up to the specifications they promise. Only the remote control doesn't look as high quality as the player. But that's a minor matter. At the moment, there is no better player to buy in terms of picture quality. (Quality is the same as the more expensive brother, see tests).

Everything is working fine for me so far. No jerking or stuttering. I have a Yamaha receiver (RX-V481) that can do 4K and HDCP 2.2 and a 4K (and HDCP 2.2) Sony TV (KD55X85 with Android TV).
HDMI cables are normal ones from Amazon Basic.
Player setup is simple and very short.
If mine would start to jerk - then it goes back as a warranty case. So far nothing.
I will also try 3D BluRay soon.
Oh yes: I am also very satisfied with the picture and sound!
Addendum:
3D BluRay works perfectly. The signal changes from 4K to FullHD (=native bluRay).
Firmware update for the first time. Everything ran like clockwork. The whole menu and the display design on the TV is a real boon compared to others.
