    Surprisingly strong performance!

    I bought the Shield console to stream PC games in my living room (Geforce now / Geforce stream).
    Surprisingly, this works excellently!
    Shooter games are playable without "lags" with the recommended settings*. In my combination     with the Roccat Sova a super experience (any keyboards & mice can be connected, 2 USB ports at the back). The computer only heats up and "makes noise" in the office and there is a pleasant silence in the living room.

    I was able to play "Rise of the Tomb Raider", "Tom Clancy's The Division", "Need for Speed", "GTA5" and "Witcher 3" via PC stream without problems and jerks in "Ultra" graphics mode (max) without noticeable or disturbing delays.

    If you put the Shield into sleep mode, it can then be switched on again via the controller or remote control.

    TV/Movie stream flawless!

    Finally, smooth 4K!

    It can watch 4K movies via stream and play Android titles without any problems. With SPMC (a development branch of Kodi, optimised for Nvidia's Keppler chip), the device is perfectly suited for the living room. H265 codecs with 10bit run super smoothly. The Android TV operating system is almost self-explanatory and is very easy to use, but it has the emaciated TV Playstore. However, most apps can be sideloaded.

    • Switches only to standby mode and can only be woken up from standby mode by remote control.

    Excellent as a media centre

    Great product, I've been looking for the perfect media center box for a long time and I think I've found it.... With KODI configured to access my network NAS, it's perfect!

    Contra

    • Fewer applications available on Android TV to be seen in the future....
    • Bluetooth always visible !!!!!
    • Default network sharing not available
    • No analogue or digital audio output
    • Remote control not included?!
