Conclusion: No one should do something like the Nokia 5 to themselves, unless you like nothing better than rebooting your phone all day.

Quite good in theory, but so unimaginably badly implemented that it can simply be described as unusable. This piece of rubbish can be used as a torch or as a remote control for light automation, but no one should pay more than CHF 50 for it.
Locking/unlocking the screen often do what they want, independent unlocking, screen off and touchscreen still active and some more malfunctions of the screen.
When tel. with the speaker, it is normal that the opposite hears itself as an echo. Restarting the device does help, but only for 1-2 calls.
Charging worked without problems for the first week, but then only when the battery is completely empty (<3%) or the phone is switched off.
Workmanship: It feels okay when unboxed, but it is at the lowest level. After 2 weeks, the display was scratched, the cover had numerous paint damages and 3 of the 5 letters had already fallen off the lettering. After 2 weeks, it looks worse than my cheap Huawei after 2 years or the Samsung Duos after 3.5 years.
The fingerprint scanner is built in, but has a success rate of about 20%. That's why I don't use it any more. Now I had the phone for 3 months as a replacement device and I'm glad I can return it now before I destroy it in a fit of rage.
In spite of my long experience in low-cost purchases, this device has more faults than all the previous devices put together. Too bad

Excellent workmanship, very good price/performance ratio

I have had the Nokia 5 since the end of July. When I set it up, the June Android security update was installed straight away, followed a few days later by the July update. I really appreciate the bloatware-free Android. The device is well made, feels good in the hand, and the screen is also good in bright daylight.
I use my smartphone mainly for internet, mail, Whatsapp, Twitter, news, navigation, weather, etc. I watch films and play games. I don't use it to watch films or play games - I don't know if the hardware is powerful enough for that, but it is absolutely sufficient for my needs. The camera takes decent pictures, if I want to take photos, I use a camera anyway :-)

    Cheap and good.

Good price-performance ratio. I particularly appreciate the regular updates. However, Google's apps for calendar and mail are not particularly flexible in working with Exchange Server.

    • The monthly security updates are very important for me.
    • Slim Android
    • Good battery

    Contra

    • Camera does not handle high contrast well.
