  No purchase recommendation. It's been a long time since I've held such a poorly functioning device in my hands.

  Connecting to a smartphone is a matter of luck. With a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and old Android 4.2, the connection worked more often than with a Nexus 6P and Android 7.1.1. With the iPhone 6S, it worked best at first, but is no guarantee for a connection. The quality of the app is really in line with the rating in the PlayStore.
  The picture quality is very good for the price and the size of the camera, but that is no use if no pictures can be taken. It is true that the shutter release for picture or film can also be pressed on the device itself, without a smartphone. But depending on the situation, this is not useful. The remote control, which Nikon offers as an accessory, unfortunately does not alleviate the situation because establishing this connection is even more a matter of luck. Once you have established the connection with the remote control, it is best never to disconnect it again. more
